A VISION FOR THE FUTURE

In these critical times, it is helpful to have models to direct our efforts.  This presentation suggests a way to evaluate our society in its forward progress.  It offers a set of principles that can serve as a basis for our individual and collective enlightenment.

The speaker is Dr. J. Michael Dunlap.

Mike was a teacher and professor of Computer Science for nearly 30 years, serving at both Willamette University and the University of Oregon.  He has degrees in mathematics, computer science, and education.  He has extensive work in physics and metaphysics.  He is also a board certified hypnotherapist.  The last 15 years of his career was in high-tech was as an Engineer Scientist for Hewlett Packard.  At HP he had a role in testing LaserJet printers.  That work included firmware, software, and systems testing.  One of his last projects was to pioneer strategies to test printers in the enterprise environment. 

Mike has a life-long passion for Metaphysics.  Since retirement, Mike has been working on a series of books dealing with our modern world.  The books hypothesize a strange disease incubated in industrial waste.  These books follow the medical establishment, and those affected by the disease, as it becomes understood.  Woven into the books is a manual on metaphysics.  These ideas are presented through the lives of the characters and provides a refreshing view of the actions of metaphysical people in real life, including a deep explanation of Crystal Children.  An astonishing aspect is a proposed branch of mathematics that links quantum physics, mathematics, and metaphysics.  The mathematics shows our potential to peer behind the veil.  The books also work up to a stern warning about the mathematical implications of unlimited human population growth.  

His most recent series includes four books.  This series is science fiction.  It describes a society that embraces metaphysical principles.  The fourth book describes what our society can be and defines targets for our social and cultural development.

Mike’s previous talks have dealt with Quantum Physics and how Quantum Physics predicts a conscious universe; the nature of consciousness in a Quantum World; the power of our subconscious mind to support choice; the nature of discernment; and the role our intuition plays in transforming our world.

In the February IONS meeting, Dr. Dunlap will offer three laws or principles that could guide our development as a society.  He discusses how greed can be replaced with more powerful paradigms for a coherent, peaceful, and abundant society.
