June 25 IONS meeting

Boise IONS meets the last Sunday of each month except May and December from 2 to 4 PM at the Boise Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 6200 N Garrett Street in Garden City.

At the June 25 IONS meeting, Jeannette Weston will discuss: What do eating cookies at the airport and passing the time for a few minutes with an office receptionist tell us about our impact on the people around us in everyday situations? What if we all lived mindfully? What does showing kindness get us, as a society, as a country, as a community, as an individual? Do the ends justify the means? The ends reveal our ambitions. The means reveal our values. Both matter. Our actions and attitudes matter. Our intentions matter. We are all significant. We send invitations to others just by being who, what, and how we are. Actually, just “being” is a lot of what this life is about.

Jeannette Weston worked at Hewlett Packard for 14 years, first as a software engineer, then as a manager. Then she managed a team of developers creating training materials, used to train call center workers, until she retired in 2008. Since then, Jeannette has been dabbling with a bit of editing for an author. Over her lifetime, she has done a little self-improvement and some contemplation. Sometimes she shares a tidbit or two she has run across in that process.
